Please note that an incorrect figure for the Mayor’s salary in 2012 appeared on the The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville ad on page 3 of the February issue. The correct information is shown below:
Council Remuneration
At the January 24 meeting, Budget and Audit Committee deliberated a proposed increase for Council remuneration. Comparative data from other municipalities was considered as part of this proposal showing that the average Mayor’s salary is $64,194/year and the average Councillor salary is $33,828/year. The changes adopted at the meeting resulted in an increase for Council remuneration as follows, which remain below the average comparator salaries:
