There will be a tantalizing odour of delicious soup coming from the 55 Plus Club on Monday Feb. 13, the date of the next Soup ‘n’ Sandwich lunch.

The cost is $8 per person, which includes soup, sandwiches, tea or coffee and dessert, as well as entertainment. Lunch officially starts at noon, but members tend to arrive early to get a good seat and a good parking spot. The theme will be Valentine’s Day, so members are encouraged to wear something red.

Our featured artist for February is a local photographic group who call themselves The Passing Show. Members Ken Jarvis, Kevin McWhinnie, Jill McWhinnie, Sig and Teresa Kusatz, Peter and Eleanor Rudner and Ken Howarth travel over the province in search of spectacular shots.

They promote the art of photography by taking pictures and making videos for their own enjoyment, as well as creating mixed media shows to be viewed by others. They specialize in creating a historical archive of our environment, community, architecture, customs, lifestyles and events.
